Germany - probably the same reasons as above with rome except Germany does the whole generalist civ thing better since they have the unique hansa plus can place 1 more district than normal. But the free building is nice and being able to just settle and do whatever makes them a refreshing change of pace. Rome - Even with Legions requiring iron now I still find Rome really good just because I find it so easy to expand and build an army. Plus extra builder charges makes it really easy to build up your land. Even when not playing as china I still try to do it, but china makes doing it in the ancient and classical era incredibly easy. Russia - I could give you a long list of reasons why Russia is my fav civ but I won't bore you with it unless you want me too lol.Ĭhina - Im not gonna lie. Do you think every civ should have one naturally, over or underpowered? It's one of the reasons I really enjoy the Maori, and I kinda wish more civs had them. The early trade route is pretty great, as well as the "culture bomb" like ability the trader receives. Plus the Saka Horse Archers are great imo. I love doing horseman rushes against unsuspecting civs, and getting a free one never hurts.
